Contacts & the funnel
Contacts are everyone your studio knows: leads, trialists, members and alumni, in one list. See Core concepts for how they connect to everything else.
The acquisition funnel
Section titled “The acquisition funnel”Contacts move through three stages. The stage only ever moves forward. It records the furthest point someone has reached, so it isn’t a status you switch back and forth.
| Stage | What it means | Enters here from |
|---|---|---|
| Trial booked | They have reserved their first session but have not turned up yet. | Public booking page · paid drop-in · appointment booking · added by hand · “Place on funnel” |
| Trial attended | They showed up. Marking the first attendance promotes them automatically. | First attendance · walk-in at the desk · promoted by hand |
| Joined | They finished signup and are a member of the studio. | Completed signup · imported as an existing member · promoted by hand |
Members who don’t pay through Linyup
Section titled “Members who don’t pay through Linyup”Not every member needs a subscription. Use an affiliation (member, trial, alumni) for people who belong but aren’t billed in Linyup, such as kids billed on paper invoices or a founder who trains free. They show up in the right lists and can book members-only classes, with no billing attached.
